Time is a very small unit to measure something that has a beginning and an end. But eternity has no beginning or end. God is Eternal, which means He existed before there was a beginning and will continue to exist after there has been an end. His span is from eternity past to eternity future. A God who lived from eternity past to eternity future, to understand and know the magnitude of His character, nature and wisdom also takes an eternal time. To know or fully comprehend God completely takes an eternal timespan.
Our journey on earth is but a small iota beginning into knowing a God who was from eternity past to eternity future. God existed before humanity was created. By the time humanity was born, there was already some years that God already has existed, and we were lagging this knowledge about God. This past knowledge about God can be found in seeing Jesus from the scriptures. Jesus reveals so much about the Father. As time unfolded, there is a progressive increase in knowledge about God to humanity in manifold ways.
In the beginning, God was revealed to humanity as the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob (a tribal God), then gradually as the God of Israel (God of a nation) and then God of all Humanity. In the future or next era’s, God might be revealed to humanity as the God of all races, planets, universes, molecules, etc. Everything about God is perfect, including His nature, wisdom, and character. It was our understanding about His character and knowledge which needs to evolve, so much that we should see him in His perfection. For our understanding about God to grow or evolve, God must reveal about Himself, and we need to spend eternal time with God to understand about Him.
As time unfolds, humanity was getting a glimpse of the knowledge of who our God really is. Our understanding in knowing the Father, His ways and works begins with seeing Jesus in the scriptures. If we start seeing Jesus in the scriptures, then we will enter into seeing the ways and works of Jesus in the Present time, then Jesus in Millennium and Jesus in the era that comes after millennium. For all these years, our knowledge about Jesus was a salvation knowledge i.e. Jesus came as a redeemer, healer, protector. There are a ton of other knowledges about Jesus that we still don’t really know. How Jesus sustains the universe from microscopic molecules to larger planets by paying attention to even the smallest particles like atoms. Some of the other knowledges about Jesus are below
1) Jesus as the Creator God i.e., comprehend how Jesus created the cosmos.
2) Jesus as God of all universes and galaxies
3) Jesus in Millennium
4) Jesus in post Millennium era
5) Wisdom of Jesus that maintains atomic systems like molecules, chemicals, etc
6) Wisdom of Jesus that maintains planetary systems such as gravity, planet motion
7) Ways of Jesus in nature – How stars shine, black holes exist, plants grow, and lifeless objects like trees can exist.
The cross of Jesus Christ provides the salvation or redeeming knowledge about Jesus along with the above-mentioned knowledges about Jesus. The Cross of Jesus is entry point to know all the knowledge about Jesus. To fully comprehend all knowledges about Jesus takes an eternal time. The blood of Jesus cleanses our thoughts or knowledges and points us to know Jesus in His fullness. Every day we need to apply the blood of Jesus on our thoughts and actions so that our lives are pointed to know Jesus.
Knowing Jesus is a journey we can start on earth and will continue in heaven until we see Jesus in His fullness.
