In Revelation 5, the 24 elders and angels worshipped God forever and ever. Imagine if elders and angels worshipped God forever and ever, how great and glorious would our God be? How much greatness God could have possessed? The content for which God is praised is so enormous that they worshipped God forever and ever. There could be so much enormous content about God that the angels and elders could worship Him forever and ever for eternity. There is eternity sufficient content about God that it required angels and elders to worship God eternally(continuous worship forever and ever). Eternal content about God needed Eternal worship to completely praise and adore God. So Angels and elders worshipped God eternally. There is so much content about God in terms of His nature, ways and attributes that it would take eternal time to know and worship Him.
Eternal worship of God is needed to completely praise and adore God for who HE IS. An endless or non-stop worship is required to properly honour God for who He IS. That is why the angels and elders worshipped God continuously forever and ever for all eternity. They may not have ceased praising or worshipping for even a single second. If the angels and elders did not stop worship for one second, have you ever wondered if your praise and worship is sufficient to completely worship God for who He IS? How can your one-hour Sunday worship truly worship God for WHO HE IS?
There is so much about God, such as His nature and attributes, works, and so on, that it could easily take a thousand years to worship God for all these natures and attributes. The amount of time we devote to worshipping God for who HE IS indicates how much we know about Him. Is our worship centred on new songs or music, or is it based on a fresh revelation of Jesus Christ? In Revelation 5, the angels and elders fell down because they received a new revelation of Jesus Christ i.e. the lamb is worthy to open the scroll. They might be stunned at this revelation of Jesus Christ that they immediately fell down on their knees and began worshipping God. They were worshipping God forever and ever, it can be because of many fresh revelations of Jesus Christ they might have received or the magnitude of one revelation of God.
It is also possible that every time they receive a new revelation of Jesus Christ, they are astonished and fall facedown and begin praising God. If they are falling face down many times, it signifies they have received too many fresh revelations of Jesus Christ.
Songs come and go, but the fresh revelation of Jesus Christ leads to genuine worship of God. The angels may not have sung songs in repetition, but rather a continuous song or melody conveying fresh revelations of Jesus. How much have we fallen from God’s way of praise and adoration. Do you think that your praise and adoration to God is sufficient enough to worship God for who HE IS? Our less praise and adoration indicates our less understanding of God. A fresh revelation of Jesus should cause you to worship and praise God, not music or instruments or song.
Since elders and angels have a throne view of God, they might have got a complete understanding of who God IS. When they got this complete understanding of God i.e. His nature, attributes, ways ,they may have discovered that there is so much content about God for which God has to be praised and adored. So they worshipped God forever and ever. Even forever and ever might be not sufficient to completely praise and adore God. Do you believe your praise and worship is sufficient if angels and elders needed forever and ever to completely adore and praise God? Praise and Worship of God starts with knowing God, that is, knowing each facet of God and worshipping God for that facet.
God has at least 1000 facets, which are his attributes and nature. It could take easily 100 years to know and worship God for each attribute. For example, in order to know and worship God for His Holiness, it may take 100 years. On one hand, we shall know and experience God in this attribute, and on the other hand, we will begin to worship and adore God for this attribute. Our adoration of God starts by knowing and experiencing God’s facets. It takes at least 1000 years to know God in all of His natures and attributes, and at least 1000 years to worship God for all these natures and attributes. Do you think your worship is sufficient if 24 elders and angels worshipped God forever and ever.
If your praise and adoration for Jesus is waning, pray to God for a fresh revelation of Jesus. This revelation of Jesus draws or pulls you into eternal worship of God.
