God in his mercy has shown a young person a discussion happening in the church. A group of people looking like wolves were discussing the church’s events and operations. They appeared to be wolves with a corrupt and devouring mindset trying to devour innocent people. They were not discussing church activities or operations in a Godly way, but in a crooked worldly manner. Instead of becoming a blessing to people, these wolves are trying to devour the little the believers have. When we look at the arrangement, they appear to be good shepherds caring for sheep. Internally, though, they are like wolves devouring sheep. The want to devour people’s money and time, but more importantly, they seek to make people crippled and faithless by their doctrines.
These wolves – the core committee including the Pastor are always devouring people. They stopped receiving supplies and provisions from God. God has also stopped providing for the church, thus want to get people’s provisions such as money and expanses in a worldly manner. When we ask money from people through human ways, such as excessive tithing or unnecessary projects without God’s will and without depending on God , we are crooked before God. These people who ask are like wolves before God. They want to grab believers money. When preachers grab believers’ money and time with worldly ways and without God’s will, then there is a spiritual rottenness or stinkingness. Spiritual rottenness hinders spiritual growth of believers.
Wolves and wolfish nature leaves lot of marks on the church. These marks cannot be found or traced by believers in this organisation. People outside this church can easily trace this marks. Finance, events, and meetings will all have crooked marks or ways. For every work, there is no clear agenda but has a hidden motive. The church is of God, yet it is managed by wolfish people. God in His mercy, had to reveal these wolfish characteristics in order to save the believers. Ignorance and blindly believing without checking with Bible standard are the main reasons why sheep fall into this trap. Every doctrine, event, and decision should be in line with the Bible. These wolves will devour until they have consumed believers everything and make the believers crippled. Beware, beware, beware: discern there is a lot of wolfish work going on in churches.
These wolves were constantly exploiting the sheep and grabbing their provisions in terms of money and time. They do not want believers to become mature believers, but rather to remain spiritual babies. These wolves were formerly good shepherds, but as time passed, shepherds developed wolfish characteristics. The wolfish nature is exploiting and destroying nature, that stops the sheep’s spiritual and physical growth. The wolves introduce complicated doctrines – doctrines that are too complex and does not bear fruits and tell a lot of white lies. There is no genuineness of speech. Wolves are unconcerned about God’s plans or needs, but rather desire to develop a revenue-generating system for their ministry that will generate provisions or money that exceed their needs. They want to generate in abundance much more than their needs in worldly ways and at the expanse of the believers.
The first sign of wolfish nature at work in the church is asking for too much money from people without relying or depending on God. When we lose our dependency on God, we become depended on people. Do not enter a place where we lose dependence on God. Pray to God to grant you the discernment to discern the wolves in the church.
