When Adam and Eve sinned, they lost the garment/wrapper of Holiness and God’s nature, which possesses knowledge and understanding about God. They also lost the understanding and working knowledge of Trinity.
God came and walked in the garden of Eden during the cool of the day. God the Father is a spirit. Jesus came in human form. Among the members of Trinity, only Jesus took a human form. Anything associated with God is Eternal. Jesus in human form might be Eternal. So, in the garden of Eden, God in a human form i.e. Jesus walked in the garden.
In the Bible, it was never mentioned that the Father God directly interacted with humans without the involvement of Jesus (apart from 1-2 instances).
The Father God can be seen in Jesus. Adam saw the Father God in Jesus.
Adam and Eve were able to survive in the garden of Eden because of the garment/wrapper of Holiness and God’s nature. They were able to walk with God. God physically walked with Adam. God walked in physical divine form and Adam’s body could sustain God’s physical presence. For instance, if we are walking on the sun, our bodies must be able to withstand 5000 degrees. God’s actual physical presence is a Holy presence where imperfections and sin will be instantly destroyed or incinerated by the heat of God’s Holiness.
When Adam sinned, he lost the garment and was clothed with tunics of Skin. Adam could not have survived or endured God’s physical presence without the covering of the garment of God’s nature and holiness. If he had remained there, he would have been destroyed. God was therefore forced to expel them from the Garden of Eden. In the Garden of Eden, an unholy person would also ruin other trees and plantations.
Adam was created in the likeness of God and with God’s nature. In this nature, there was an understanding and working knowledge of Trinity.
When Adam sinned, there was a complete loss of communication with Father God. According to Luke 10:22, only the son knows who the Father God is. Only Jesus knows the Father God and reveals Father God to whom he wills.
From the time of Adam until the time of Jesus, a person could not be associated with Father God and the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit was sent after the Crucifixion of Jesus.
For around 4000 years, people were unable to communicate with Father God. For all these years, people lived their lives without the guidance of the Holy Spirit. For all these years, people saw God as singular God. When people see God as single entity, this gives an incorrect understanding about God.
In the Garden of Eden, God appeared in the form of Jesus. After the Fall, Adam was sent away from the garden. Jesus then left his divine form in the garden and came outside the garden as a human. Jesus took up a human form after leaving his divine form.
God is a Triune God who existed from eternity past to eternity future. Before the Fall, Adam had the knowledge of Trinity, but after the Fall, humans lost the knowledge and working of Trinity. Jesus when he came in human form, started revealing to mankind about the Father God and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus restored the understanding that God is a Triune God.
The knowledge and understanding about God we lost in the fall have not been recovered by humanity till now. We have not regained the understandings lost in the fall. By looking at Jesus and the Cross we can regain all the lost knowledge about God and Trinity. Start digging the scriptures with the help of Holy Spirit. Ask Jesus about what was lost as a result of the fall.
By regaining the understandings that were taken away after the fall, we will once again be part of God’s plan and God himself.
Jesus came to restore all that was lost in the fall and bring us into God’s image again, complete with God’s nature. Here are a few understandings which were lost in the fall:
1) The Knowledge of God as creator
2) The understanding and working of The Trinity
3) God walking physically among His people
4) Remove the barrier between Father and Humanity
5) Life giving presence of God
Jesus’ death on the cross was not just for salvation only; it also marked the beginning of a return to God by regaining the lost knowledge about God and the Trinity. We embark on a return journey back to the garden of Eden. What was lost in sin at the garden, Jesus came to make us dead to sin.
By making us dead to sin or dead to self, Jesus gives us one more opportunity to enter the New Heaven described in Revelation.
