TS174 – Refreshing God

Now when the people saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, the people gathered together to Aaron, and said to him, “Come, make us gods that shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.Exodus 32:1

God was so lost in time, when he was speaking to Moses. God did not react when the Israelites began to make the idol, but once the idol was made, God’s wrath burned against the Israelites. God was so lost in his fellowship with Moses that the Israelites’ sin disturbed their time together. God even forgot that the Israelites had been waiting near the mountain’s foothill for several days because of His fellowship with Moses. May be God shared His heart completely with Moses from eternity past to eternity future. Moses would have spent even more time with God if the Israelites had not built the Golden Calf. The Israelites’ sin disrupted God and Moses’ fellowship time. After Abraham, God may have found a friend after many years in Moses with whom he can share his heart.

Just like Moses fellowship time was disturbed, the sins of this land sometimes disturb God’s fellowship time with some of his meek servants. God found a friend in Moses with whom He can share His heart. God might even have forgotten about everything else for some days when speaking to Moses. Perhaps speaking or conversing with Moses refreshed God.

Did God find friend in you ? Is God enjoying speaking to you? So many times we think from our own perspective; have we ever thought from God’s perspective? Is God pleased with our prayers and finding rest in us? You might have a big ministry with lot of healings, but is God finding a friend in you and sharing his heart with you?

Moses took a bold step, he was not satisfied with tremendous outward miracles but wanted to see God’s Glory. He wanted to see the person of God behind such greater outward miracles. The miracles themselves are so incredible, how will God behind the miracles be? He will undoubtedly be more spectacular, glorious and magnificent.

God took rest in Abraham’s house, in the similar way God might have taken rest in the fellowship with Moses. A small human taking care of an Almighty God and providing rest for him. What an honour. May be such people who provide rest for God are born only once every 500 years. Not only were the Israelites were blessed by Moses’s fellowship with God, but entire humanity was blessed. Moses did not ask anything for himself, but instead brought the needs of the people to God. This generation also requires people like Moses, who take the people’s needs more to God than their own needs. God’s needs became Moses’ needs, and Moses had no needs other than God’s. Moses did not have his own needs but only God’s needs. God also must find a friend like Moses in us with whom he can share His heart.

The most important thing in our fellowship with him is that we need to refresh God. God always refreshes people, but a very few people refresh God. Very few people understood the tears, burden, and brokenness of God’s heart. Whether a person accepts God or not, he is a child of God. If God can count the hairs on our heads and not even one sparrow falls to the ground without the Father’s will, imagine how much more he will weep for every perishing person on earth. Even Jesus might have wept for Judas Iscariot. God does not want even one person to perish. God always had sorrow and burden in his heart for people because he wants all His people to be saved from Hell fire.

We need people who refresh God by sharing His burden. We need carry his burden for humanity for some time, just as the passer by Simon of Cyrene who carried the cross did. God’s heart, too, needs to be refreshed. In your fellowship time with God, make it a priority to refresh God by your words and praise. God shares his work to His servants but shares His burden to his friends. Are you His servant or friend ? Progress from the servant stage to the friend stage. God is searching for someone in whom he can take rest. He found Enoch, then Abraham, Moses, and so on. Let it be you next. Pray and ask God to let you be His friend.

Maybe if you’ve seen God’s broken heart a few times. If your heart is broken after seeing God’s broken heart, then God is calling you to be his friend and wants to share his burden. God calls many people to be his servants to partake in his work, but very few to be His friends sharing His burden. If you get a picture of God’s broken heart, check whether it is because of your sins or the sins of others. Repent if it is your sins. If it is the sins of others, pray along with God. Don’t waste time; instead, get down on your knees and start praying. The time is near where lot of people are getting a glimpse of God’s heart which is broken because of the sins of this land.
