Every true promise of God passes through a state of death or valley before it comes to life. For some, the valley lasts twenty-five years, as it did for Abraham, forty years for Moses, and so on. It is a time when hope runs dry, and simply thinking or imagining the promise fulfilled is nearly impossible. The promise is almost dead.
The promise fades into a mere shadow of what was spoken. And when we rely on our own strength and worldly resources to make it happen, the promise becomes heavier and further out of reach.
The death of every human possibility is often the doorway through which God’s resurrection power enters. What He has promised, He is faithful to perform, in His time and in His way.
Every promise God makes will pass through the Valley of the Shadow of Death before it can be fulfilled. God is faithful to fulfil His promises.
