TS339 – The Song That Never Ends

Around the throne of God, the seraphim and the living creatures lift their voices in worship. Whether they sing one song or many, we don’t know, but we know this: they continuously worshipped God forever and ever. Words are flowing continuously – Day and night, with music or without it. Without pause, words of adoration and praise pour out of them. They do not rest day or night but continuously sing – “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty…”

Imagine if we could get a glimpse of that unending worship in heaven. What would we see? We would see that the fuel for their worship is seeing and beholding God. Seeing God is the fuel for their worship. The more we see God, the more we can worship God.

If you are not able to worship God, then you are not seeing God. If you see God, you will automatically worship him. We don’t know when was the first time the living creatures began to worship God, but once it started, it never stopped. It has carried on from generation to generation, from age to age, without interruption.

So we must ask ourselves: why does our worship stop? Because worship is, at its heart, about seeing Jesus. And when we see more of Him, our worship will overflow. No need to be stirred up or manufactured by anything else. Start seeing Jesus in the Scripture and your worship will overflow.

Let us also (along with heaven) sing a song that never ends about Jesus, and let the Holy Spirit give us fresh, unrepeated and unending words to worship Jesus.
