Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them. Ezekiel 37:8
Ezekiel saw the well-built physical appearance, but he also saw that there was no breath of God in them. How true is it in this generation, when we look externally – Lot of work done on behalf of God like mission work, events, and meetings but there is no breath of God in them. Big campaigns, meetings and work, but the breath of God is missing in them. These activities and events became lifeless and there is no life of God in them. There is no move of Holy Spirit in them.
All the work done on God’s behalf has become dry and lifeless activities and life of God is missing in them. Both the individuals engaged in such activities and the activities themselves become dry and lifeless. They continue to work for God, but there is no life in them. More dry bones are produced by these dry activities. Dry bones are producing more dry bones.
The breath of the Holy Spirit is missing. The breath which comes from the four winds is missing.
Everything we do is lifeless without the breath and move of Holy Spirit.
Our prayer and bible readings have also become dry like the dry bones. Our prayer needs the breath of Holy Spirit to bring our prayers back to life. Our Bible reading needs the breath of Holy Spirit to bring the scripture back to life. We will no longer be dry when the Holy Spirit’s breath comes; instead, we will be filled with abundant life. We cannot be dry anymore, but we will be full of life and this life is abundant.
What we desperately need is a fresh breath or move of Holy Spirit bringing our dry situations back to life. A fresh breath of Holy Spirit bringing life to our lifeless bodies. A fresh breath of the Holy Spirit bringing life to our mortal bodies.
