There were a bunch of people in the Bible whose main priority in life was to seek God and to live in the courts of the living God. Everything they did flowed from that single perspective. Moses was one of them, and so were the sons of Korah.
For these people, the courts of the living God were the boundary of life. Every decision, every pursuit, every act was measured against this one thing: To survive and live in the courts of the Living God. To seek God’s face and pursue Him was the goal of life itself. They spoke of pursuing God Day and night. Longing to see Him, and actually seeing Him, was the priority that shaped their days. They pursued to see God Day and night. By day and through sleepless nights, they pressed on to see His face.
Read their psalms and you will feel it, a deep ache to pursue God and behold Him. Psalm 42 and Psalm 84 are among the psalms of the sons of Korah, and they are full of this longing.
They caught glimpses of God every day. Yet the glimpses were never enough or sufficient. They wanted more than a glimpse; they wanted to see God in His fullness. May God raise up such people in this generation: men and women whose perspective on life is to seek God and to dwell in the courts of the living God.
