TS349 – It Was Never Your Battle

And the spies gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature. Numbers 13:32

Whether the enemy is big or small, how does it matter to you? As if you are fighting the battle. God is fighting the battle for you. The battle was never yours to fight. God is fighting it, and your part is to just stand in the battle.

Your abilities and strength are irrelevant (do not matter), and they serve no use. As if by your own strength you came out of Egypt. Of course not. God wanted to bring you out, and He did so with His mighty hand and outstretched arm. Your effort and strength had nothing to do with the outcome. He intended to set you free, and He did so.

So, stop measuring yourself. Don’t look at your strengths or capabilities, and don’t dwell or highlight on your weaknesses either. Neither one is the measure of the victory. Your job is to stand in the battle and let God fight for you. Create place for God to fight on your behalf.

The enemies may be taller, stronger, and more formidable than you. So what? Though they are more powerful than you, they are never powerful than God. Because you don’t know God, the enemy appears bigger. The truth is, when the enemy appears so enormous, it is often because we have lost sight of how big God is. The less we know Him, the bigger our enemies appear.
