“Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!” Acts 7:56
When Stephen was going through persecution, two things happened
1) Heavens were opened – Persecution becomes the time/season of open heavens. It’s a season of divine experiences where God becomes so real. It’s also a time of visitation where God comes to meet his people. It’s time to see and encounter the Glory of God. Stephen saw the Glory of God.
2) He saw Jesus at the right hand of God – He got a right understanding of God along with a greater (or deeper) revelation of Jesus. He got a deeper revelation of Jesus as well as a correct comprehension of God. Jesus standing at the right hand of God means Jesus became equal with God and Jesus became the power, authority and working nature of God. Right hand of God means (It should not be taken physically) that Jesus became the authority, power and working (or functioning) nature of Father God. Father God does everything through Jesus. Father God fulfils all promises, plans through Jesus. Father God uses Jesus to carry out all of his intentions and promises.
Today if you are going through persecution, you might have a chance like Stephen where heavens are opened, and we might get a greater revelation of Jesus. You might also have an encounter with Jesus. Don’t lose hope in persecution but rejoice because it’s a season of open heavens where we will receive both a right understanding of Jesus and a greater revelation of Jesus.
