There are some sins which will be revealed only when we see God. Seeing God will make you repent of secret sins. When Isiash saw God, he confessed and repented that he was a man of unclean lips and lived among people of unclean lips. Seeing God exposed his secret sin and caused him to repent of his secret sin. In the light of God’s Holiness, all sins are exposed.
In Isaiah 6, when Isaish saw God, his eyes were opened to see the sinfulness or wickedness of his heart and identified the pending sins that need to be repented. For Isaish, it was only 1 pending sin that need to be repented. If it was you or me in Isaiah’s position, we would have so many sins and would have needed to spend at least a few hours confessing our sins before God. Isaish said I am man of unclean lips and then goes on saying I live among people of unclean lips.
When we see God, two things happen. With the eyes we see God and with those same eyes we can see the wickedness of our hearts. We see God on one side and the other side; we see the wickedness of our hearts. Maybe saints when they saw God, one side they are rejoicing seeing God, but other side they are repenting of their sins. It’s a joy filled repentance – Repenting and Rejoicing. Rejoicing because they could not contain the joy of seeing God and Repenting because they see the sinfulness of their hearts.
The eyes which are opened to see God, those eyes can also see the wickedness of their heart. When we see God, our eyes become sin-intolerant, our body becomes sin sensitive, and our hearts become tender and soft. There are lot of advantages of seeing God. Start asking God to a glimpse of Jesus every now and then every day and see how your life will be transformed.
When we read the Bible and pray, we must learn to see Jesus. A person’s life will surely change if they see God. We would become more sin- sensitive, sin-resistant, and sin- fleeing Christians if we see God. Seeing Jesus every now and then is remedy to overcome sin
