Better is a day in Your courts than a thousand anywhere else. Lord Jesus, let me experience that one day in your courts which is better than a thousand elsewhere. Let me find your courts and experience that one day today. Let me experience the same experience which the Psalmist experienced in your courts that day.
Let what I learn by experience (in your courts) create a yearning to live in your courts. Let me be captivated by the splendor, richness and magnificence of your courts. Let me discover that experience so rich and magnificent that to describe it requires 1000 days.
Let me experience that one day today where I will find the beauty and grandeur of your courts. The beauty your courts is not the external beauty (and grandeur) but it’s you Jesus. Your courts are beautiful because of you, Jesus. The time spent with you, seeing your face and being lost in seeing your face is an eternal timeless experience. The moments spent with you, gazing into your face. Let me experience that timeless experience of seeing your face and beholding you.
Maybe the author of this Psalm used the phrase “1000 days” as a metaphor or a figure of speech. In reality, he was referring to the one-day experience as an eternal, timeless experience. Let me enter that eternal timeless experience of seeing you face to face and let my heart be fully satisfied by seeing you.
