TS329 – When was the last time you repented?

Did you ask yourself this question recently – When was the last time you repented? A healthy Christian is a Christian who repents and turns to God on a daily basis. These days repentance and fear of God is missing so much in the pulpits. Pulpits are filled with motivational speeches. The preachers don’t preach the ways of God and the fear of God but rather preach what people want. In their preaching they conceal or hide the deep damage caused by sin and the importance of a savior. People don’t feel the need to repent (confess their sins) and turn from their wicked ways.

Even after hearing the sermon, a person in sin continues to live comfortably in sin. In some cases, the preachers inflate people’s egos and excite them (get them hyped up). When John the Baptist preached, there was a fear of God that led people to repent. There was no hype, but plain Gospel with the power of God that led people to repent and turn from their wicked ways. Almost everyone who heard John’s preaching, repented and turned away from their evil ways. If you are not repenting, do check your walk with God, you may even be backsliding.

The sermons we hear these days motivate us and give us hope, but they rarely make us repent. In the older generation, when God’s servants preached, there was a fear and reverence of God that caused people to turn from their sins. This generation its completely opposite. This generation of believers have become (so much) sin tolerant believers. They are comfortable living in sin and tolerating sin. Satan’s greatest trap is to make you comfortable living sin without making you repent. It’s afraid of repentant Christians. Do you confess your sins every day? Do check your life
